Fall Convention is over and we were very happy to get together in person again! We were a very small group, only eleven in total. New officers were elected and you can see that list under the State Officers tab. A picture slide show is available under the Home and Pictures tab. If anyone has other pictures to include, please send them to me and I will get them added. Our speakers were very good and I hope everyone received information that is helpful to their situation. If you have new officer information for your chapter, please email it to Delma. If there is anything we can do to help your chapter get going again, please contact a state officer by email or phone. Missed those who could not attend and hope we can increase our numbers next year when we meet at Fall Convention in Cape Girardeau with SEMO Chapter hosting.

I hope the new year is starting off well for everyone! Due to the Covid situation, I'm sure the chapters have not been able to meet. Hopefully some of you have had zoom meetings. We want to keep our State organization going and we need to remind everyone that it is time to be sending in your dues to your chapter. The chapters will send in dues to the State Treasurer, Cathy Wolverton, before March 1st. Please let us know what you have been able to do and share activity ideas with each other on our facebook page. Who would have thought last March that our lives would be so changed and different by this time. Wishing all the Activity Professionals a Happy National Activity Professionals Week, Jan. 24-30!
To all A.D.A.M. Members from Tami Bruton-Harris, A.D.A.M. State President
I hope everyone is doing as well as to be expected during this rough time in our World. In being a part of this whole situation, of the COVID-19 and so many restrictions, I know everyone has been very busy with so many different roles, from working the floor since many of us are C.N.A.'s, making snacks, door to door activities, and one to ones daily, helping various departments, donating our own time and money as well as being a part of the all hands on deck. I want to send special prayers to everyone whom has lost loved ones in their facilities and family members during this epidemic. Activity Directors have been unable to meet within their own chapters as well as we were unable to hold Spring Board Meeting. I have visited with the Truman Chapter, Jo Birch, who were doing an exceptional job of getting ready for the Fall Conference and want to say Thank you to that chapter. I feel with all the phases and social distancing, closures, and restrictions we are unable to have Fall Convention. I apologize for the delay, but wanted to be sure and when I got the information of the extension of Phase I to June 15th, it would not even be up to me to decide. In reference to our A.D.A.M. Re-certifications: I feel since many had renewals due by March 31st and we have all had no time for thought process with the extra responsibility to be hands on, we should wave the March 31st deadline for renewal. I am not sure this is ok with the By-Laws, but I would hope this can be an exception. I would like to propose June 30th as our extension date. Those can be sent to Cathy Wolverton, A.D.A.M. Certification Committee. Please text me at 417-631-1210 with questions and concerns and I will reply when not at work. 2019 Fall Convention is over and we hope everyone had a great time.
